 Gambling is a particular style of risk taking that is exciting and fun. For most people who enjoy gambling in a casino or in a slot-hall, it is an entertaining experience. But the minority of people cannot control their passion, being capable to become addicted to anything, including gaming. Storm International as a responsible gaming operator understands all possible risks of gambling and follows standards set by “Responsible Gaming Programme”, which include social standards, strict control of the quality gaming institutions and advertising restrictions. Storm International acted independently and was the first company in Russia in setting up the Responsible Gaming Programme and it is at companies` own expense. All Storm International gaming institutions provide special printed materials, devoted to problem gambling: -The leaflet containing signs of gaming addiction and relevant warnings; -A business card with the telephone of the Hot Line on problem gambling; An independent help centre has been financed and, together with the help of the internationally accepted organization GamCare, based in the UK, and the Russian entity NAN, is now prominently advertised in all the holding company`s properties and provides literature to help both the addicted and their families. The program includes written warnings on all advertising, social and psychological support, a ban on gambling for the psychologically unstable and strict control in the company`s properties through the training of all staff that come into contact with players. The company was the first in Russia to raise and enforce the minimum age to enter a Storm property to 21 (Russian law allows minimum 18). Also the company created a Responsible Gaming Fund, which goal is to spread the principles of Responsible Gaming among all gaming operators in CIS.
