Those who are fond of games of skill will be able to spend October evenings in the warm and cosy atmosphere of famous “Shangri La” Poker Club in the centre of Moscow in Pushkin Square. These days there will be “Shangri La October Open PokerFest” – a series of large club poker tournaments. Tournaments in various kinds of poker, with various bets and, correspondingly, with various prize funds, will last 10 days. Admirers of this game will have a chance to play at the same table with the star of Russian poker, world poker champion of 2007 in WSOP version Alexander Kravchenko: he has been invited to all tournaments as an honoured guest. Both poker amateurs and experienced players will be able to take part in the tournaments. Plenty of guests from various countries are traditionally expected to attend such a grand event.
Alexander Kravchenko
Born on April 21st, 1971, in Archangel. Has been involved in professional poker for 10 years. His debut in the European stage was in 2001 (he was named the beginner of the year in European Poker Awards tournament). The amount of Kravchenko’s gains is impressive: by now he has won almost $2.5 million in poker. Alexander joined the book of records on becoming the first citizen of Russia to get a golden bracelet of World Series of Poker. It happened at WSOP 2007, in the tournament of $1,500 Omaha Eight-or-Better. Alexander found himself in the book of records for the second time on outstripping Kirill Gerasimov’s achievement and becoming the luckiest Russian player to win the largest amount in poker.
