27.08.2008 - $925 Million Casino Expansion Near Finish

Mohegan Sun, owned by the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, has announced the first portion of its $925 million, 64,000 square-foot expansion will open Aug. 29.
Located in southeastern Connecticut, Casino of the Wind will boast a 42-table poker room, more than 650 slot machines and 28 table games, along with a deli and restaurant.
`We are very excited to reveal Casino of the Wind to the world,` said Mitchell G. Etess, president and chief executive of Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, in a prepared statement. `The Rockwell Group, who have been our architects since the beginning in 1996, have outdone themselves. This may be their best work yet.`
